Got an update for fixing my glass. Safelite: $450. Ew. So I reached out to my Jeep friends. Found a glass place to do both for $150. Yes.

I just ordered a side window for the driver's side. Working out installation, but it should brighten up the interior while also giving passengers on the bench seat the ability to see left and take in the views!

I have to admit that, at first, I was not into window vans, but in the end I bought one so my passenger/s could enjoy the views as well.

Yea, I didn't care, but then we went out to Mojave and I felt bad that my passengers couldn't see out of the left side. It's easy enough to get a window put in and it'll benefit me as well. Why not?

I have a question for van land: What do you guys use for changing tires to lift. Using a hi-lift (probably) but what mounting points do you use? If I had aftermarket bumpers, I'd use those, but I don't. This is next up in my build...having a full-size spare and the ability to install it, too(common sense)!

Once I get my lift and tires on, I am planning on getting a properly sized bottle jack that fits under the axle. That way there is minimal lifting needed to get the tire off the ground, and it will take up minimal space in the van.

Thats what I have in mind as well. Have used the Hi-Lift for many years on the dedicated trail rig but I feel a good bottle jack will serve me much better on the van. Hi-Lifts are great but on occasion they are sketchy at best to work with.
The van doesn't have the endless suspension travel or 42's that the trail rig has, so a good bottle jack will suit my needs well for the van. (nice and compact is a plus too, will be able to store it out of the weather , eliminating the need for constant TLC, cleaning and lubrication)

factory jack with a 4x6 block of oak timber works well for me IN the van. home i use a floor jack which is barely adequate, need to buy a bigger one

Ok, I got a 6 ton jack and some bulbs for the dome lights (even it doesn't light w the passenger front...probably loose or corroded). Got a dirtbike sitting in a hitch carrier ready for Big Bear tomorrow!

10 ton Bottle Jack w/ Extended Base Plate....its the only way to do it safely with larger tires on a rig this size. A farm jack is just asking for another trip out of the desert via helicopter.

Awesome looking van. Those 315's really set it off...give me bad ideas for Boomer's next sneaks...

It's pretty cool to see "Hot Wheels" with a motorcycle on the back and hardly noticing. The van drives smooth with some weight on/in it! Although I learned that even forestry roads with washboard are MUCH better on unloaded 1-ton suspension when you air down to 18psi....at 40psi I thought I was going to lose a filling!

Went out to the Mountain Rendezvous...
Camping night 1 w/out the group. I jerry rigged the solar panel; however, after talking to some people at the event, I rigged it creatively enough to only warrant small changes, so I'm happy about that.

Then, for those interested, I removed the rear seat so I had lots of extra space to carry the dirtbike inside and then set up my cot. Here's the sleeping arrangement:

and lastly, I won Tembo Tusk tie downs...those should prove useful!
