How do I get to the antenna?

Okay, my malfunctioning automatic antenna is driving me crazy! It makes a sound like a dying yak every time I start up and when I shut off the ignition.

I'd like to replace it with a simple, non-power antenna but in the meantime, I just want to pull the power wire off the motor so it stops making that noise.

Do I need to remove the fender liner to get to it? And do I remove it from the wheel well or under the hood?

I feel your pain. I turned my truck on a couple days ago, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw something spasming. I looked over just in time to see the entire power antenna mast shoot out from the mount, spaz, then flail to the ground. The motor now runs FOREVER since there is no mast to stop it. I'm going to do the same as you, replace it with a good old fixed mast that doesn't break.
There is a write-up by CYi5? about putting a switch on the power motor of his antenna when he put a new deck in, you could probably just find the same wire and cut it since you are going to replace the whole thing anyway...

Clark.

No better time to do a snorkel while your at it, you have to delete the power antenna for the Safari install using the exact numbers posted above :D
