How do you turn off the door chime?

Can you do the same for a Ford? It would be nice to shut that thing off almost all of the time.

I have an 04 Tahoe. The door chime is so insanely loud and annoying. A few years ago, I researched how to get rid of it. I got discouraged by how integrated they made it and gave up. It still drives me crazy. I hope you have luck figuring out a solution. I'd be interested to know.

I flip the latch in the door when I want to leave the door open and the radio on. I have printed out the other solutions listed here, but have been too much of a Lazy Bugger to actually try them out.

Simple but possibly most expensive solution - install aftermarket radio

My wiring harness includes a module that functions as the speaker. Disable that, and you won't get a chime for the door being open. My 2003 25000HD (and any later Silverado's) has the factory chime wired through the factory radio.
