a meaured mile in 40 seconds? On the highway my milage is down to about 40-41 MPGs. And in town and general farting around it gets between 51-58 MPGs.

"A freind of mine" with an identical CM400T was able to attain that speed on I-40.

1 mile in 1 minute would be 60mph, there for 1 mile in is 60mph x (60 seconds / 40 seconds ) = 60 x 1.5 = 90mph. simple distance x time = speed :) i think thats pretty quick for a 400 isnt it? and a honda to boot...

I thoght that 60 seconds was 60 miles an hour,therefore 30 sconds would be 120 mph, 45 seconds=90mph. 40 seconds 90+mph. Where am I wrong? It seems like it makes sence, so I'm probably wrong........

That's a really common mistake... you're halving to find the middle of a line that isn't linear.

It's a 1/x type of curve.

For your original example:

(1 mile / 40 seconds) x (60 seconds / 1 minute) x (60 minutes / 1 hour) = 60*60/40 = 90 miles / hour

"seconds" is you're independent variable, it's in the denominator... the 'formula' for your question is basically 3600/x = your mph

y = 3600/x looks like this:
