How many miles on your Toyota?

Hey guys. I have been lurking around here for a while now and I haven't seen any threads showing people's rigs and how many miles they have on them. It's always interesting to see what/how/why Toyotas last for freaking ever.

Post what you have. Miles, years owned, mods, etc. Let's see your hoopties.

Second owner since January
Magnaflow muffler, air horn and streamlight charger mounted in cab are my only "mods."

1999 SR5 TRD

14 years of ownership

330,000 miles (has taken me on a lot of adventures, and continues to do so. Probably should upgrade, but I can't seem to, the better half even gave me approval for a new truck. ;) )

Like to keep mods, sweet & simple.

Wildernest (2nd one, which has the kitchen organizer, attic, curtians, and rear screen door)
Camburg 2.5 coil-overs
OME Dakar Heavies/ Bilstien 5100's (switching to OME shocks, and greasable shackles)
ARB Winch Bumper

Various 32" tires over the years, Like Coopers, Goodyears, and BFG both mud and AT. Currently on BFG AT's, spooning on Kumho AT51's at the end of October. (trying something different)

Damn this is epic! I am hoping to get my 2000 up to 300K I am just breaking her in at 208K :sombrero: What major maintenance items have you had to do? Have you had any failures or has it ever left you stranded?

I know! Has been a great truck, best i have ever owned...grown quite attached to it, even though is is just an object. Has never left me stranded.

Nothing "too major".

As most of us know the stock Toyota suspension is lack luster. Snapped the original springs, repaired it, then snapped the repair...went to 5 leaf Deavers...and you guessed it... snapped those, (should of did the 8 leaf pack) finally decided to do OME Dakars (should of done those right from the beginning, but didn't know any better at the time)

Timing belt/water pump at 90K intervals.

Still on the original clutch.

CV boots failed at 250K miles, I put brand new axles in. Tried remans from Toyota, they were ever so slightly out of spec, causing the oil seals to leak, so I put in new ones (should of went new the first time around)

When I did the CV's...did the ball joints, poly bushings, and tie rod ends. Didn't have to, but since I had it apart.

Carrier bearing for the driveshaft went out about the same time, did that and had the driveshaft rebuilt, along with new 3rd member bearings/seals, plus axle seals/bearings.

New radiator about 100,000 miles ago. (top plastic piece cracked)

O-ring on one of the fuel-injectors went bad, replaced them all since we had it apart.

New oil cooler o-ring/seals. (trick to getting the old one off, is to soak it in acetone over night)

Brake booster.

Rack and pinion at 220K.

Valve cover gaskets.

I "think" that is it....all in all, I don't think that is all that bad, given its age and miles.

Of course the normal wear and tear items, tires, brakes, belts, & batteries.

Running slotted and crossed drilled rotors with EBC Ultimax pads, stops extremely well, for a non-ABS truck. I know some guys don't like the slotted/crossed drilled rotors...however I am very happy with them.

Just about to turn over 1400 miles.

Of course, this is the first new truck I've bought...and the first Toyota I've ever owned with under 100k on the odometer when I got it!

Awesome guys!! Yeah the first thing I did when I got my truck at 207k was change the oil, timing belt and water pump. Recharged the a/c when it started to get hot out. Then bleed the brakes, cleaned the ish out of the interior and what not. Installed my horn from lowrangeoffroad.

I change the oil every 3000 miles (probably considered excessive by some, I used to do it every 2500)

The diffs, tranny, and transfer case every 30K....again, probably excessive.

Thought about doing Hella horns...I dunno, something about those old skool "beep-beep" Toyota horns. :sombrero:

Have looked and looked at new trucks, nothing really does it for me. This one has everything I want out of a truck, plus it is like a favorite old pair of faded pair of Levis.

253,000 - I am second owner, bought when it came of lease with 39,000 miles.

OME lift, ARB bumper and rear Budbuilt with skids. When Toyota replaced my frame, at 200,000, I went ahead and had them replace a bunch of rubber hoses, valve cover gaskets, etc. I change the oil at 5,000 with Mobil 1 since I got it.

PS if you want to help me in the Overland Expo Cool Ride voting, I am in third place, but 100's behind TeriAnn's Dormobile and a newer 4Runner.

98 4runner, 2.7 4cyl, 5spd, Base Model, Bone Stock other then Bilstein Suspension and Bfg AT's ...460,000kms and counting, I think that's close to 300,000miles.

Dead reliable, best vehicle hands down I have ever owned!!! Regular maintenance items like BJ'S, Tie Rods, Bushings, Exhaust Manifold but nothing major at all. Original Clutch also, body is starting to show its age and being in Canada's Salt Capital doesn't help that.

I will never sell this 4runner, when I decide to upgrade it will be taken off the road and use around the property for firewood duties.

I've had my '98 4Runner since Easter weekend. I purchased it with 149k. It now has 156k. It's my third Runner but I do plan on keeping this one until it dies. It's stock now but I have plans to have a decent build by next summer.
