How many people does it take to mount a RTT?

So how do y'all get your RTT on and off your rigs? Looks like these bad boys range from 120-160lbs, which is a non-trivial amount of weight to try to get up to my roof rack which is nearly 7' above the ground. My Land Cruiser barley fits in my garage as is, so there is no way it would clear with a RTT on top, which rules out the in garage hoist option. I am worried that it would be a seriously sketchy for just my wife and I to handle, let alone by myself.

My wife and I do it. But I only take it on and off once a year. Its not a ton of fun, but doable.

I park next to the curb, which gives my wife a little height advantage. Once the front edge of the tent is on my rack I can just slide it forward on the top bars on the rack.

I can get it by myself but it is not super fun. Lift it on edge. Pick it up with top of tent against body and place on tailgate. Then push tent over slightly and lift and push as it slides up into the bed rack and slowly let it come down. Takes about 5 mins and more strength than I want. My height helps but I am looking at getting a trailer so I can leave it mounted up.

Edit: I tried using the fiancé's assistance but she was too short to help any.

:sombrero: If you plan on doing much camping with the RTT--

You need a trailer-I had mine on the jeep, didn't like restrictions/height and my wife wasn't crazy about climbing that ladder=especially at night, so

---Trailer bound

Good luck

:sombrero: Heh Heh, yeah two people and skinny arms for the attach--unless

You have a garage and a ----RACOR--- hoist-

Makes the RTT change/move/remove a breeze for one !

joelbert - Awesome, I was thing something like that would be possible, nice to see someone else tried it first :sombrero:

Jimbo - Yeah a trailer is the long term plan, with 3 small boys and one more on the way the Cruiser is running out of space fast!!!

Jimbo & LandCruiserPhil - Obviously I need a taller garage

Rezarf - Thanks for the offer!!! What I would really love is to get a better look at your trailer setup. I think once my wife sees one she will be sold.

I couldn't have mounted the RTT on my trailer, without the RACOR

I invite my neighbor over for a beer, and after the first one and before I offer a second, I say, "hey can you help me something....."
