how wide is a truck camper

hi.i like to know how wide is a camper were it sit on the bed truck .
is it 48 . 48 1/2 ??????
i like to know it because i want to build a guide on the 2 side of my truck bed so the camper will not move side way .3/4 plywood plus a 1/4 rubber mat .48 wide not a truck bed truck mat .commercial building mat .cust less
i cant not check my camper because i will pick it up only in march and for me to go and take the mesurment will cust me 50.00 wort of gas .and the poeples that i did buy from are really to old to go and check it out for .
this is my fisrt truck camper so i have no clue how wide they really are .

Please tell us more about the camper and the truck. Your post says "1993 sportman .9.truck camper ford 150 xl" Is the camper a 1993 Sportman? Or does the 1993 refer to the Ford F150? What does the .9. refer to?

For some time, Ford trucks have had a 50 inch space between the truck bed wheel covers. I don't know if this is true for a 1993 truck.

i never did pick up the camper yet .i will at the end of march .
it winter here with snow .
right now the camper is inside a big ched .so is it good there .
the old couples have 3 truck camper .one fift wheel and traler camper .at 69 years old i guess they figure to sell every thing
