Howling Moon plastic ball joint replacement

I recently purchased a Howling Moon rtt and the plastic ball socket cracked off in my driveway before I even took the tent camping. I've heard that this happened to other people as well. I figured I would share a possible fix for the next person this happens to.
The steel tek pieces can be purchased at lowes. You have to drill out the rivet holding the stock plastic balls in place. Once you do this mod the support bar just slips into the Steel Tec piece and sits in there.

How are you attaching the socket to the flange?

I have a small piece of pipe in the flange. The pipe is maybe 2" or 3" long and sticks out of the flange 3/4". Then I slid the socket over the exposed pipe and tightened the allen head bolts.
