AM General is a separate company from GM, but they sold the rights to the Hummer name to GM. they still build the H1 and H2 for GM, though. the H3 is built entirely in-house by GM.

AM General still builds several vehicles based off current GM platforms.

AMG did assemble the h2 for GM with GM parts...the h2 assembly plant (part of the original "hummer" name lease deal) is being re-tooled to build taxis:
