I <3 Rock Sliders

Today I came out after work and noticed a large red mark along my rock slider and tire. Looks like someone decided to drag their red sports car along the side of my truck, and guess what? No damage to my truck! :ylsmoke: Just need a fresh coat of Rustoleum and it will be as if nothing had happened.

So how has your armor served you when not on the trail?

I bought a set of sliders from a member of this board and installed them the day before going to a baseball game with some friends. The parking lot had 36" high concrete pylons and delineators; on my way out I turned a little too close to one and heard a SCRRAAAPPPEEEE :Wow1:...just some yellow paint from the pylon on the slider. Felt dumb for hitting it, but smart for getting the sliders. :ylsmoke:

I love when careless people in parking lots throw their doors open next to me and I hear "ding!"... Always makes me smile to hear them swearing!

guy backed into my zombie killer and got a nice 1" shackle mount hole in his bumper for his trouble.

I've been thinking of getting sliders on my cherry for a while now. If only to help me step up to my Yak box and to fend off the rigors of city parking. :)

reminds me of a thread i read on ttora where a guy said he was chewed out by a lady who opened her door into his slider, saying he shouldn't have anything that hard on his truck, and look at the damage it caused. hilarious

I scratched and dented the rear door on my Tacoma with my sliders in my garage waiting to be installed. :(

A lady in a parking lot backed up into the side of me, she hit it pretty hard. I was in the truck at the time watching but I couldn't do anything to stop it, when she hit me I said a swear and got out, expecting alot of damage to the side of the cab and bed. Absolutely no damage! Thanks Demello sliders! even though the sliders don't stick out very far, they still do a pretty good job, the only reason I was expecting damage at all was because she hit me so hard and the back of her car smashed in. I was so happy, and my girlfriend was with me, from that point on she saw first hand how valuable they are. :victory:

I picked up a security shift way back when I had my 1st 4Runner with an ARB on the front. Parked it nice and early before people showed up. A few hours later I see a bit of commotion out in the lot, I strolled out to see a lady freaking out near my rig. She had backed into the ARB and put two large creases in the trunklid from the shackle mount structure.

She wanted me to get the police and make a report about how this person hit her car. HAHA.

A few years ago an old man in a Camry did a triple lane change coming off an on ramp into my front bumper. His rear quarter was decently caved in and I was able to scrape his paint off my tubes with a fingernail. The only downside of it was that, since he the owner of my favorite Japanese restaurant in the area, I had to find a new place to eat.

I saw it happen! I was outside about to walk on over to my Disco (5-speed manual I might add) to go on a two week trip.

The boyfriend of the girl who lives next door backed up his car into the rear of my Disco which had steel bumpers all around. The rear of his car was damaged to the point where the trunk could not open anymore and all the tail lights were broken. He was embarrassed.

I didn't have time to deal with insurance! UGH! I walked up to inspect my Disco and barely a scratch was visible; looked more like pin striping. I said something along the lines of: Don't worry about it. No damage on my end and I need to take off on my trip.
