I cant decide on tires. Kenda RT, Wildpeaks, ATIIIs - GX470, 255/80 vs 285/70 vs 33x10.5

Ok I cant really choose a tire, just a rambling and hopefully someone can convince me of something.
I originally wanted the Kendas no questions asked when most places on the internet claim they are 52-52lbs, but they are really 61.5lbs and thats a big jump from the stock 38lbs. That alone puts you 30% above stock unpsrung weight.
I then started looking at 255/80 but the look just really makes your car look like you skipped leg day. Trying to find some GXs IRL to see with 255/80.

The AT3 in 285/70 is actually only 55lbs which is fantastic. But id likely have to do more trimming and BMC whereas with the 10.5 or 10" I could prob get away without it.

I plan to overland but I also do plan on crawling. I am in socal so we've got some rocks worthy of punctures.

I have had at3w 255/80-17 on my jkur and also had the KO2 in 34x10.5-17 and they are so close in size you can not tell which is bigger or narrower visually. My buddy runs the at3w in 255/80-17 on his Lexus and loves them. We have been to Moab together.

Thanks man. Leaning heavily towards this. Do you know if your buddy needed to do a BMC? I doubt it. Is he running spacers?
Right now im trying to find the answer to whether I can run 17x8.5 -12 offset with 255/80 without a BMC. (Im fine with eventually getting a BMC but I have 2 trips coming up and all the shops that supposedly I cna trust without a butcher job are far, donthave the time RN)

I can confirm the Falken is the way to go when comparing these 2 tires. I have the Kenda's on my wife's Sequoia and they are loud, mostly worn out after 20K miles and terrible in the snow. I have the AT3W on my Ram and perfect on the Highway, Dirt, Snow & Ice.

he did not do a body mount chop. He had no issues in Moab on fins and things. he is is running a dobson lift altho not sure how much, even tho I helped put it on I just don't remember maybe 2". I can't remember if he is running wheel spacers but I don't believe so but again can't remember for sure.

Not sure if this helps.

I went from 235/85/16 BFG KO2 to 265/75/16 Falken Wildpeak AT3.

I love the skinny look of my old tires, but so far for daily driving on wet and snowy pavement I am really digging the Falkens, I wish they made them in a 33/10.5/15 for my Jeep so I didn't have to buy a new set of wheels lol

Out of your options, I’d go with either the Wildpeaks or the Toyo ATIII’s in the 255/80/17 size. That size gets you the height without the drawbacks of the width of a 285/295 wide tire. It works really good with the 120/150 toyota platform. I run the 255/80 ST Maxx on my 4th gen 4runner, mounted on a set of 5th gen 4runner wheels, no spacers. I only needed a slight lift to run this size on this whee. It’s also the tallest tire I could stuff in the stock spare tire location. Very minimal, light rubbing when the suspension is completely flexed off-road. The ST Maxx is actually pretty amazing off-road in just about every terrain including mud but I don’t really care for it’s on road manners and I don’t feel it’s that good on wet pavement or packed snow/ice. I’ve ran two sets of these now and both have been a total pain to get balanced properly. Between the wildpeaks and the ATIII, very close call but I’d probably go with the Toyo just because they typically are easier to balance and require less weight to do so.
