I finally gave in to Micro 4/3

BKCowGod

Automotive ADHD is fun!
So for $300 with a warranty, I couldn't resist. I was going back and forth between Olympus and Sony, but the form factor and the reputedly-better JPEG engine finally swung me...

Behold a crappy cameraphone picture of a non-crappy camera!

For the record, I am not a pro. I know my way around a darkroom and I understand all the manual controls... I just find that for the majority of my camera use, I am perfectly fine with automatic options. I also never shoot RAW, but I do like having the option of shooting JPEG/RAW (though it drops my 16gb card from 2500 pix capacity to 550 pix). Because of that, I feel that the Oly perfectly fits my needs. I look forward to getting to know it better... Will have a real review once I use it a bit more.

You will like it. I have one and really like it a lot. Very good image quality in a compact package.

If you have legacy lenses around from an slr system, you can get an adapter that will allow you to use your old glass on your new camera.

Also, I would recommend the 20mm Panasonic lens. Very nice prime lens and makes a very small camera/lens package.

I wouldn't mind the 20mm, but I just can't justify its purchase any time soon.

I might want to attach it to my 300mm Canon lens, just to see how silly it looks :D

Welcome to the Olympus club. You won't be sorry of your pick (yes I am biased) but it really is a great camera in my opinion.

Just playing around... So far I've kept it on "idiot mode" to try and get a feel for it.

Horrible lighting and no flash

Good detail

One situation where I would have preferred a bit more fine control over focus...

Requisite Rover content... Parking lot poser shot! (complete with other car and bad light pole placement)

Excellent buy! the art filters on the Olympus is quite nice.. as are the in-camera colors. I used to own an E-P1 and I really miss the JPEG out of the camera... I took my m4/3 Panasonic GH-1 on a recent trip with the Olympus 14-42 and Panasonic 20mm lenses. I believe all the shots below were with the Olympus zoom.

Got the camera just in time for a trip to Hawaii... I like it a lot now that I've gotten used to it.

All pictures processed in-camera, with a very few exceptions for minor cropping and other small tweaks

BKCowGod, the shot of the ladder leading into the water is intriguing. Where is that? Looks like a tropical destination so I'll start with a haphazard guess of Hawaii.

I caved recently and got a m43 camera also. I picked up an Olympus E-P3. I'm liking the size and I'm carrying my dSLR less and less.

That's the southernmost ladder in the United States, near South Point on the Big Island.

a couple more:
