I recently installed a crane to manage the 420 lb spare tire. Oh, and I found a gallon of CAT yellow paint. The truck will be more yellow each time you see it

Tractor Supply carries CAT yellow, Ford blue, Massey Ferguson red.

I totally get the idea of a lift... But that is OVERKILL Specially for a spare tire!
A hand winch on a removable davit is more than enough! Especially when you have a "Qualified Winch Wench"!

And a word of advice: It is REALLY necessary that you build well, and more importantly...AND AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE!!!
I had a Harbor Freight crane similar to what you have shown. I was nervous about being next to the spool cranking though. The bigger crane can be operated with a tether from the ground.
