I need a Phx area fabricator for sidebar/rock rail

So I am looking through some Aussie stuff and I see pics of ARB's cool side bars that go from the bull bar down to the rock rail. I called today and ARB USA says that they don't make it for the FJ Cruiser and there are currently no plans to :(
This would be a trick thing to have both front and rear to keep me from tripping on rocks and give a 1 Leg Guy something to hold on to at times.
I also say a cool South African rock rail that had a step platform that came out to be a sand ladder! Nice mult-use concept there...called Met Trax. No website but I found an email adrs and hope to hear back about either USA offerings or if they would let someone else license the design.

So what I am looking is someone who isn't crazy priced that will help me work up something for my FJC that looks like the ARB design, going from the bull bar to custom rock rails that maybe included a sand ladder/step??
And if that works out then maybe something from the back of the rock rail to rear bumper up over the wheel arch...
I am looking for handrails more than protection just so everyone knows.

thoughts??

Lance,
John Hunter from www.hunteroffroad.com built my tent platform. He is on the this site as Hunter. He does awesome work and should have charged twice the price. He gets my five star recommendation!

Yup. John does some mighty fine work. I do all my own junk, but have done work on some of the vehicles that John has worked on in the past...it is always great stuff I see....and the owners are always 100% satisfied with the service they get out of John.

Not only that, he is a member here, goes by the screen name "Hunter". He will be at the 4 peaks clean up in his buggy (look for the rouge 'wheelers worst nightmare--big black buggy with the red-n-blue lights up top....).

Sounds like I will be chatting with John at the Four Peaks Cleanup!
I saw a pic of the buggy and I like what I see on those other rigs...
thx guys!

Lance,

A while back I was looking for the same thing. I took along a copy of my OZ magazine to show them the ARB version and see if they could replicate using the Stock OEM Slider on my FJ. I don't have a bull bar but they were quoting a minimum of $400 for the ARB version without the Bar to the Bull Bar. I thought it was too steep considering that they were only adding another bar to the OEM slider to extend it out and then the diamond plate.

Anyways, since we are both from the Phoenix area this will give you a rough idea.

Cheers,

I've always thought about adding those brush lifter things or whatever they're called... the cable from the roof rack to the front... for that purpose, seems you could grab onto that while trying to crawl around the truck. Just a thought, plus it looks super-cool. :costumed-smiley-007

limb risers are what you are talking about Mike...
Yeah I had planned to install those but on the FJC you would have to unhook them to raise the hood...check it out on yours..

Thanks for the info on Phx prices...I will check with John "hunter" and see what the thoughts are...
If I can get new rock rails with a side bar and the step plate can be sand mat material at a decenet price then I think it is something others would be interested n also.

I will keep ya'll posted.

You mean something like this?

We built these about 3 months ago.

The only downside is we are on the east coast. But you could make a trip out of it and come see them.

The shop web site is http://independent4x.com

That is awesome.

Lance, I would be interested of just extending the OEM rock rails and add the diamond plate.

Just though I would throw that out if it will spur a better deal or make it worth it for the phx fabricator.

I'll give another thumbs up for John... He built my in cab roll cage and some rocker protection behind the rear wheels to my rear bumper on my 8. Nice job and fair price.
