I've been looking on Craigslist and Autotrader for a used 2001 to 2005 LC but haven't had any luck . Well just today I see: 2002 LC, one owner, 35,000 miles, $22,900 . Someone traded it in at the Cadillac dealer which is 1 mile from my house ! I jump in my truck and haul butt down the street to this dealer ( literally down the street from my house ) . I get there and see a LC that looks like it just left the showroom . The inside is mint just like the outside . But on the windshield is a yellow sold tag that had "wire transfer" written on it . Some lucky dog from out of town saw it pop up on AutoTrader and wired the money .
Man I was so close .

That's a little rich for a 2002. Considering most 100's start their life as status-monger mall-hoppers, they don't really get broken in until at least 60k.

All things being equal (e.g. condition, maintenance, etc.), I wouldn't pay a big premium for low miles... especially when (with a little patience and/or a 1-way airplane ticket) you can pick up a nice 2003 with 60-90k miles for that kind of money.

For 35k miles, that's pretty darned good $, there are 2-3 years before you get to likely the 20% of latter model years.

Before this one I found a mint 04 with 45,000 miles for $27,900. But again someone beat me to it .

5-speed is more desirable than the 4-sp found in the 98-02 models. I believe in 03, side curtain became standard as well. Only thing you should be cautious of is the navi system. The HVAC is wired in with the Navi, which some owners have reported failures on. $$$$$ to fix.

Also be advised that 03+ moved back to 4.10 gearing from 4.30 gearing which are a touch ~5% different. Would love to have 99 rear and 00-02 carrier in a 03+ and allow for locking w/ATRAC & marginal increase in tire.

Some argue the gear ratios in the 5spd make that moot.
