Iceland Off-Road XJ Flares

Those are some of the best aftermarket flairs I have seen for most any vehicle and they rock on that XJ. Curious how the hold up in real world use.

Very nice ideas. I love the light weight and build lower philosophy.

As long as the bumpers are high clearance and you don't drive by feel all the time they should hold up great. Sometimes if you build a low CoG vehicle this is a little harder than it sounds, but I still don't think it would be an issue.

I'm a BIG fan of big tires with LITTLE lift. Its the best of all worlds in my opinion.

so if you can run 35's with 4" lift, I wonder what you could do with a budget boost of around an 1" or so? 33 x10.5's...? 235-85's..?

I really like the highline setup for AEV for the LJ/TJ, but honestly haven't liked anything I've seen done to a cherokee with TJ or bushwacker flares, or simply a sawzall, thus far.

These, I REALLY like though...Very clean look, and with the right tire, very stock looking, with ton's of clearance. You'd basically be putting your money into re-gearing and the flares, rather than the suspension lift. I wonder what you'd still have to upgrade to go with the bigger meats?

Currie steering upgrade, bumpstops like crazy, rear disc brake swap, etc.

Those Iceland flares have been around for quite awhile. People always used to scoff at the price. However now that bushwhackers are close to the same price, those make a lot more sense.

uhhhh, ok.

bushwackers have been around 400.oo bucks for like...ever. I've been a jeeper for a long time and haven't seen this particular brand around...

haven't heard of them over @ naxja, either.

neither really here or there though, I guess. :)

The product for XJ is new. They have sold them for the WJ (and ZJ too I think) for a couple of years at least.

I think it is a great product. May get a set for my MJ eventually. I wasn't planning on building it that big though.

Yes, you were, Chris.

Drink the koolaid.

You and I should build to 37's and have "Jeep sickness" holidays.

If you're planning on being in the north west corner of Montana let me know, its where I live! Our driving up here isn't too wild or extreme, but there are some good forest service roads out there.:smiley_drive:

looks good and for the flairs it's great.
i'm not sure 1/4" fiberglass will hold as much as 1/4" steel.... (?)

35"s with 4" lift won't work in the rear without major wheelwell adjustment. not for serious wheeling...
been there myself!
