Iceland, summer 2010 (updated video on page 2)

This summer we went to Iceland (again) for a two week long trip. Our plan was to drive mostly on the tracks and as little as possible on the paved roads. We were also going to live in the vehicle, but stay at camping grounds when possible. After all, as visitors I believe it is important to spend money in any country I visit.
When we arrived on Iceland, the weather was rather cold and rainy. However, after a few days it started to clear up, an the temperature also increased. The result was almost two weeks in perfect conditions!
I have tried my best to cut the two weeks down to three and a half minutes so that you can all enjoy the fantastic scenery of Iceland.

Cheers!

73A1, you can take some amazing photographs! May I ask what type of camera, lense you used?

Iceland has always been on the top of my list to go overlanding. Now, after watching the video, I am convinced I definitely need to go.

Thanks for sharing and do post more.

Thanks for posting that up.

I really really hope I can get there some day. sigh. Looks so amazing to me!

Wish I lived in the UK, then it would be an easy trip!

I guess I can still live and dream vicariously through you.

Cheers

The photos are shot with a Nikon D50 with Nikkor 18-70 AF lens.
Some of the photos are HDR-images from several exposures.

haha, The music was just an internal joke amongst the participants of the journey. I know I should have chosen a different sound track for the 'official' film

Well, it's close to one year since we went o Iceland. It's time for the Iceland movie 2010 -the director's cut. This time without the banjo music ;)

Beautiful picture and video!

My husband and I are thinking about going to Iceland in the summer of 2014. How did you all get your vehicles to Iceland? Container or ferry? We would like to ship our Land Cruiser and adventure trailer from California to Iceland and explore Iceland for 6 weeks. Any thoughts? How difficult is it to temporarily import a vehicle to Iceland? Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.
