I'd like to use a LG 300w residential panel for my sprinter camper; advice?

I honestly don't even know if I need more than the 160 watts and a decent 12 agm battery...

More than likely you don't. But what you will need with this good generic setup is a proper wiring job. I'm seeing excellent results from a similarly-spec'd system using 10ga copper stranded from the panel to the camp trailer exterior wall, then #8 AWG marine cable to the charge controller then on to the battery. The controller is less than a two-foot wire run from the battery.

I dunno.

I prefer at some some solar that is NOT affixed permanently to the vehicle. I use a 100W in a frame. My RVing buddies all have higher power needs (solar, not 12 step) and use a couple of fixed panels as well as 120 watt portable (as in a Grape solar with a stand, not one of those uber pricey panels marketed as portable.

But we camp in the desert a lot and want the rigs in shade, the panels in the sun. And to use them for other stuff. YMMV. It's pretty easy to rig once you've got solar; just another set of controllers and a hacked extension cord.
