Do you have any favorite areas out that way? I just moved to Dallas and am adding spots for future trips to my list! I've researched Big Bend, Terlingua, etc. and just saw that the BDR for the area came out.

Yea I just referenced the BDR-X route, it's a bit of a disappointment if I am being honest but we've been riding enduros out there for years and they basically just covered some of the same tracks with some of the main road sections thrown in. I think they covered some of the good aspects of the available tracks out there but left some off too. It's worth a shot though as it still highlights some of the better areas out there and I might do it in the truck in the future.

IMHO, as terms of off-road fun and rural camp sites, the State Park is the better of the two. Guale Peak is my absolute favorite spot out there. Terlingua is a must visit for dinner at the Starlight Theater, the Chisos Basin/Mountain Center is treat to escape the heat and get to altitude with a drastic change in scenery from everything else within four hours of there haha. I highly recommend the Boquillas crossing in the National Park so be sure to bring your passport. Alpine is a cool town to hit on your way in or out and Marfa is a stop if you care for over priced artsy types haha.

Great insights, thank you! I've heard that Boquillas crossing is good. I was actually thinking of doing this in my truck as well. Let me know if you plan a trip in the truck - I would definitely join. I am likely going to plan a few days down there in early spring. Are you on the Tremor forum/doing the Big Bend meetup in a few days?

Late February through mid April is fantastic out there, just be sure to miss the few weeks when it's spring break in mid March, it's an absolute $hit show out there those few weeks. I'd possibly be up for a run in the spring if schedules align and I bet we could get @Kingsize24 to join us as well. Nah, I see they are going but I won't be making that one.

I'd be up for it!

Let's see how schedules align in spring.

If you are doing a group trip I may be interested in that. It would be good going with at least two veterans to the area. I have never been.

Sounds awesome! Jeremy is definitely the veteran however, it was my first trip. But, luckily he has been there more than a handful of times.
