Do the first 100s have proper seat belts for all 3 seats in the middle row, or is the middle seat a lap belt only?

by 2006 your taco should have 3 full seat belts for the backseat, correct? If a 100 only has 2, + the 3rd row jump seats, you are only gaining 1 additional spot.

Why? because the lap belt doesn't work? It's still a seat with a safety belt.

To continue on as the devils advocate, I picked up my '05 GX470 with 150k for 10k. All GX's have the 5 speed transmission but '05 and up gets your the VVTi 4.7. Not counting the 98-99's hundy's with factory rear lockers, the GX with atrac is every bit as capable off road as the LC, not to mention much easier down the skinny trails. On road- a KDSS equipped GX easily out handles the 100 and its not even close. Good luck, keep us posted!

looked at a 99' handy tonight and man I love that thing. I put down the 3rd row and there is about enough room to put a couple back packs. I guess thats what a roof rack is for... Wife and I are going to look at a 2002 sequoia tomorrow. I have never been inside one so it will be interesting. Thanks for everyones help. I'm still open to all 4(sequoia, land cruiser, lx470, and gx470). Whatever I can find the best overall deal on. My total budget is $14000 so the cheaper the rig the more money I have for accessories!!

Talked to my brother in law about the gx470 they have had for a year. The only complaint is the integrated touch screen NAVI, air conditioner control, radio computer. He says its a pain trying to drive and adjust the temp without having a knob. Trying to touch the little button to turn the fan up or down is kind of dangerous when driving he said. Other than that they love it.

I was on the hunt for a while and finally grabbed a 2002 LC with only 140,000 miles - the truck was insanely clean, and meticulously cared for.. My two previous trucks were both Tacomas (2004 & 2007). Traded my 07 Tacoma for a Civic while commuting and after 4 years with that need no longer present it was time to get back into a beloved Toyota 4x4. I'm beyond excited to start exploring with it and hearing the positive feedback in the various forums only fuels my confidence. I really wanted the 5spd auto in the 2003's and later but what I found was so good in every way I had to let it slide... Good luck on your search!

The 4.7 chugs along happily on 87 octane. I have put premium in two or three times over the past 10,000 miles with no discernible increase in fuel economy. There are lots of threads on Mud about this one with the same response.

The older 100s , I think from 98 to 2001-02, owners guide says it is supposed to run on "premium fuel". There are many threads on that but with that being said : I almost always run premium. I had an 80s LC , then went to a new TRD 2006 DC Tacoma sold it after three years with less than 30k miles to buy a 1999 LC with 175k and have never regretted the choice not for one minute.

Congrats on the sale! I'd skip the Sequoia though if it were me. Classifieds here and on Ih8mud would be where I would start my search for a modded 100.
