I'm not seriously considering this but lately i have been lusting for a 45 Troopy as a replacement for my Cherokee.
I used to own a few 40's in my younger years and sold everything when i got hurt at work just after purchasing my home. I never regretted the decision but i still love the 40 series styling.
Can anyone explain or link me to the reg's about bringing in a vehicle from out of country? I read something about the 25 year rule, does it simply mean anything 25+ older can be imported?
I would prefer LHD vs doing the conversion. I'd also prefer something from a climate that did not have much issues with rust and corrosion as i dont have the skills/wallet to repair much in this regard. What countries would be a good starting point for this search?
What could i expect to pay for a decent Troopy (or possibly a pickup) with fees included? I'v seen a few imported from OZ that looked to sell for about $12K, with a camper version going on ebay recently for $15K.
I'm considering my options and think i would prefer an older classic vehicle such as a Troopy, Scrambler and the like.
