In need of a 258

[truck mechanic]

Hey all, I am looking for a good runing 258, lost cyl # 1 in the Scout this weekend, but I need to get the truck up and running quickly. I will most likely rebuld the one I have later on but just dont have time for that rite now. I am 20 miles west of Boston Ma. So if anyone knows of somthing with in a few hours drive please let me know .

Are you sure the AMC 258 will work? I know the IH V8s are very different animals than the AMCs...?

Oh yeah its an, amc. Ih used the amc 258 for the first few years of the Scout 2 run. They did have a bell housing that is amc on the engine side, and then Ih on the trans end.
