insulation setup, who thought out of the box?

If you consider Lizard Skin, be sure to look up DIY Lizard Skin, much cheaper an seems to be just as good. I am strongly considering that as well, especially for the rear where I cannot reach everything. I think you are ont he right track with several different materials to block sound/noise. I would think it may help some with insulation for temps, but more so for the noise factor.

After reading the Alaska article (hard to do), and looking at several links in this post, I think I'm just going to have suck it up and put an air space somewhere. My current idea is attaching the non-aluminum side of 1/2" polyisocyanurate to the inner 1/4" paneling. The opposite aluminized side will face outward. To that side I'll glue some narrow 1/2" pieces of something that won't burn to act as firring strips. This will be the air the experts want opposite the reflective side. I may go up to 1" thick firring strips.

Next to the air space/firring strips, perhaps another 1/2" board of polyiso or some better stuff from the links above.

Then, a 1 1/2" layer of the duct insulation someone mentioned above with vapor barrier to the cabin inside. Next-to-last, I still want some sort of reflective insulation between the fiberglass and Lizardskin, if not Reflectx, something with air pockets, as well.

I was going to make some Reflectix panels for my windows. I think I still will for the summer. In cold weather, now, I think I need a second set of Amarflex, or the equivalent.
