Intercooler on 1990 E350 4x4 van

So the intercooler is a Mishimoto M series, As you can see I removed grill added 1 inch iron bar stock. Mounted intercooler on that, weld tabs for bolts on bottom. It actually bolts in easy on top. Had to move grill out about 2 inches so I got some 3/16 aluminum and made extensions. Pay attention, this is high tech. I cut it to fit around radiator support under hood. I bent the ******** out of it in a vise using a hammer to fit it around curves on side. Sanded and polished it. Countersunk holes NOT completely thru so I could epoxy weld stainless bolts in place then bolted it to grill ( I didn't want to see screws or bolts going thru aluminum)

This intercooler size should handler up to about 450 HP 25-30 PSI boost...My motor we are shooting for 300 rear wheel HP and around 700 ft lbs Torque

Had time on my hands due to COVID

Cool :D

what else did you have to figure out?
Hmmm. Pipes will fit I am sure...I previously moved batteries (2) under vehicle...don't see how pipes would fit with batteries in...

Also have to move my bumper out an inch...grill hits it now on back...(custom Bumper. stock would fit no problem)

I am going to source the sheet metal under grill where headlights attach to...cut off just that portion to push headlights out even with grill...they are recessed slightly now...not a big problem

IF for some reason someone wanted a bigger intercooler...I don't...then you could cut front metal where air conditioning condenser mounts to and fab up square tubing like I used to open that up....(NOTE: Curved portion under metal 1 inch tubing I put in)

If you needed more room...move air conditioning lines...I have to pull it all out for new engine anyway...so I am going to reroute those lines to clean it up.
