Has anyone seen a how to for paneling the interior of a passenger van? I'd like to read up before I get stuck into it.

Thanks

There are some build threads with some absolutely beautiful van interiors, but for cheap, fast and easy..... And not bad looking at all, use 1/8" termpered hardboard, and spray glue upholstery fabric onto it.

From your signature, it looks like you are camperizing your rig..... Remember to insulate first.

I used to have a ski bum van that (after insulating) I panelized with white dry erase board. It was cheap and fun to draw or write poems on during down time.

have you tried youtube for ideas? everyone seems to have their own best way, but after a few videos there will be common denominators.

I Prefer 1/8" door skins to Hardboard. Some of the shops have 3'x6' pieces for a better price than 4'x8'. It stays truer than hard board which tends to get wavy if it gets moist.

Interior paneling is all about personal preference, but no matter where you live or what climate it is it's rather crucial to have proper insulation up first.
I would start shopping around to get ideas of what's available and costs then figure out a budget that you would want to spend and jump into it.

Do you have windows?

You might be able to use existing panels as patterns for wood etc.

I have a Ford but I want to insulate the walls below the windows and and make new wall panels (wood and or upholstery/vinyl). I plan on adding cabinets later so will need anchor points for that and cargo hooks tied into the metal in the wall of the van.

Nailed it Desert Dan - it's a passenger van so has windows which makes it a complete pain in the ********. The vans I see doing the panelling are all cargo vans. I've insulated the lower walls and covered the pillars in relectix but it's time to cover all that up with custom panelling, this is the part I'm struggling to figure out.
