Special thanks to Matt Glass at ARB for the sweet hookup. This trip would not have been possible without the 63qt Refrig/Freezer. It worked flawlessly. Many in our group had YETI coolers and promised me cocktail ice for the entire expedition. I got enough ice for two drinks the first night. After that all cold beverages had to be chilled in the ARB. Power consumption was modest. I was able to operate the refrig for the whole trip with a 92 amp deep cycle and a 50w solar panel.

The only place I think you're going to be challenged is at the switchbacks on Flint Trail. Although, we had a Jeep JK Unlimited (116" wheelbase, 86" overall wheel to wheel) which navigated the switchbacks without issue. We did see a full size support truck for a bicycle tour drive from Hans Flat to Maze Overlook. Otherwise I can't think of any place where turning radius and ground clearance would be a problem. A majority of the trail surface itself is gravel/rock that could driven on at speed of between 15 to 20 mph. What slowed us down were the little washes across trail every 100 feet that had to be crossed at speed bump speeds. Please keep in mind that I am a Jeep guy and have zero experience with offroad 4x4 pickups.

thanks for the pics and writeup
I love that area and I love my ARB fridge :)
Bummer for the bumper repair but doesn't sound like it slowed down your group at all

Between the distortion of bumper mounting bracket away from the cross member and undersized bolt in the bumper to bracket connection, the trailer tongue was hanging low enough to drag in certain situations. The solution was to take the bumper off straighten bracket, turn the bumper upside down and remount. This raised the receiver up about 6".
