Hi all.

I am new to this site so i thought i should introduce myself. I am a South African who loves to travel Africa in my 130 Defender. With my wife and 2 young kids i have travelled South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, the Serengeti and Ngorogoro Crater, Zambia, Namibia and a bit of Botswana. Our dream is to drive from Cape Town to Norway and the UK and then from Argentina to Alaska.

I kitted my Landy personally and the mods include.

32" BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2's, 9000lb Ramsey winch, Little Black Box engine management system, long range fuel tank, House of Henry seat covers, snorkel, Aluminium canopy with 3 doors, double aluminium drawer system, built in kitchen area and packing space, 60l Waeco fridge, 40l Engel fridge, 40l water tank, Howling moon x large roof top tent with add a room tent, Hannibal awning, built in safe, smash and grab tinted windows, bull bar, tow bar, mounted spade, axe and 3 x jerry can holders, led lighting in load area, dual battery incl 1 deep cycle battery.

@ justaddmtns, the KM2's have been ideal. They have travelled 30 000kms over every surface (except snow and ice) and will probably last another 40 000kms. No punctures, or loss of air ever. They cost R2000 ea here which is about $ 250.

Here are some pics of my 109 and RR Classic. Both were sold in January. The 109 is the R6 with flat Defender type grille. It is a 1984 with Chev 4.1 straight 6. The RR is a 1980 with the 3.5 V8 with a single card conversion and 32" Wrangler Muds (not on in the pic).
