VanDOOM!
That's right! I done went and did it! Starting a new project... VanDOOM!! Here is what I bought:

1982 Ford E350 Ambulance with Pathfinder conversion
460 (20k miles on rebuild)
C6 (same)
NP205 (same)
Dana 44HD front 3" axle tubes
Dana 70 rear (20k miles on rebuild) I think this is a D70, but maybe a D60
16x7 Ford Alcoa wheels with 235/85-16 (tires are done in)

I just got this home so I only have the pics from the PO.

The previous owner has had the rig since 95. Used as a camper right. I have a stack of receipts 2 inches thick with all the work that he has done. Some good, some bad. The interior has been gutted.
It has 2 bench seats in the back along with a table. Seats are reversible.

It needs interior work, but comes with a ton of parts. It also needs a new alternator (big ol ambulance type. Working with Blanchard Electric in Seattle to upgrade).

And tires...trying to figure out what will fit. I would like 255/85. ST Maxx maybe when they come out. They might be too tall to fit between the lower edges of the fenders. 265/75 if they will not fit.

Since I became disabled with a degenerative neurological disorder I sold all my manual transmission projects and settled on this bad dog. Going to be fun working on it with my 12yo son. :)

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Yeah, it was for sale for a long time. I think people wanted something more finished, but it has all the right stuff done and it is mostly cosmetic.

I did buy my first parts today. Another set of wheels identical to what is on there now! They are in nice shape and will make great spares. Can't beat forged Alcoa's!

Thanks for the thread! I will read it in full.

Yes I picked up a set of 4 Alcoa's to match what I had. I only wanted one more for the spare, but I got the full set so I will have some extras.

I just ordered up some Chassis Saver from Magnet Paints to do some work on the floor boards. I will be posting pics in this thread of that work.

Now that the holidays are over, it is time to get started!

Thanks again for that thread 8-Lug. Just 3 pages in gave me some ideas for seats that I didn't know might fit. WOOT!

Zodiac.

QuadravanZ
Wow. With a completly rebuilt drivetrain a Quadravan sat and sat and sat for sale?

It was a 4x4 ambulance for heaven's sake! How cool is that? Vanbulance...

Great snag and great project to take on with your 12 year old. I look forward to seeing where it goes

Looking forward to the build.
Love the Alcoa's they were one of the nicest looking factory rims available.
Can't find nice ones here in Pa. too much salt and no upkeep.

Post what tires you go with when you decide. As you saw I am looking for new rubber too.

I am saving my pennies for tires. I am leaning towards the Hercules Terra Trac R/S. 265/75r16 in range E. They are a 3 ply sidewall (235/85 are also 3 ply) commercial traction tire. The other choice might be the Cooper ST MAXX. That is a great tire but it is on the aggressive side.

Really? Are those Astro seats? They look like Ford 3 passenger benches to me. They are pretty nice.
