Is Gooseberry (Hurricane UT) a crazy tough trail?

Headed to Zion next weekend for a few days and wanted to do Goosberry. My wife is an intermediate Mountain Biker, she has been getting much better as of late but I don't want to expose her to too much craziness.

Also any other trailer anyone can through out would be much appreciated.

Dude.. Gooseberry is not crazy tough, but it is a tricky trail ......
If you ever ridden on slickrock at Moab.. then you know what I mean, but a little, or a lot more technical.....
Pick you lines carefully, and if not comfortable walk the section, there are plenty of miles to ride, and obstacles to conquer at Gooseberry Mesa....
I think of it as the theme park for MntBikers..
Ride it clockwise.. Start with Bowls and ledges trail...it can take you to the point, but you can bail-out a different points and ride back on the dirt road...
Hidden Canyon is my favorite, a bit more technical, but loads of fun.....

I would recommend you guys also ride the JEM trail.......a lot of it is fast paced on desert floor.......
There is a new trail system that was completed not long ago....
I say stop at the LBC and get the info straight from them.....

Have fun out there !!!

Gooseberry has a bit of a rep for chewing people up. The pros bite it since they are thinking it will be easier then it is. The newbs bit it because they are news and the folks in the middle just sort of do their thing.
Just looked a photo blog of a buddy who did the JEM trail today. Looks awesome. Its not even wicked hot down there yet.
I used to live in the george, there is a lot of decent local stuff around. Swing by the desert rat for some beta. While not a bike shop they can point you in the right direction of people who have good intel.
cheers.
