Andy,
What's the difference(s) between a 45 and 47?

The FJ45 can be a troopy or a cab chassis.
The HJ45 is only a cab chassis.(note there are a lot of HJ45 with aussie built troopy bodies that are also referred to as troopys)
The HJ47 is a diesel troopie.
There is also a BJ45 troopy or cab chassis. I dont think there is a BJ47

The diesels have a metal line from the roof to the step forward of the door hinge. The gassers have the welded line stopping at the bottom of the door.
Later FJ45s also have the welded line extending to the step

Is Global Classic Imports in the US or Canada? I can't seem to find that anywhere on their website. They do have some nice stuff on there. Only makes my itch worse...

They are in the U.S. My biggest compliment is that the overall condition of my truck was exactly as described, zero rust (Which is quite paramount when your buying sight unseen). I have seen another truck of his that was in a lot rougher shape than mine and the owner of that one also said John was very honest with the overall condition, but it was the only one he could afford.

Not a FJ47, but a BJ44 (so not as long, but it is a diesel), $18,500. And in your neck of the woods.. Idaho

Just sold 2 of those.
1 went for $15,000 and was about the same shape as the blue one with factory AC. Even had the same rims. Those rims are very cool but may be illegal as they are not DOT approved. They are a bolt together wheel.
The 2nd sold for $10,000. It had less km's but some rust.

Great trucks but the 2B diesel can be hard to find parts for. I'd prefer the BJ46 over the BJ44. It has the 3B diesel and 5 speed.

That right there is (next to a HZJ78) my dream cruiser... And a pretty good deal if it's in good shape.

IS the BJ46 the same WB/Body style and length as the 44 (and I though 43???) If so then I recant my statement, I want a 46 (I hear the 3B is a good cantidatefor a turbo?)... How hard are they to come by???

Cheers

Yes, the 46 is the same WB and Body style as the 44 and the 43. All considered to be MWB (mid-wheel base) Cruisers. The 43 to my knowledge only came with a soft top and as a gasser. The 44's had the 2B diesel and the 46 had the 3B diesel.

The 2B is a great engine and can be turbo'd. We turbo'd the one that sold for $10K with a Turbo Glide turbo. It actually made the 2B come alive and a vast improvement in the performance.

The 46's are very cool but difficult to find just like the 44's and 43's. They are all 14" longer than a 40. You wouldn't think 14" would make that much of a difference but it does.

If you want a MWB Cruiser, you might consider stretching a 40. This has been numerous times. Aqualu even makes an aluminum 40 tub that is stretched 10". You can even go longer if you special order it. I believe this would be a better option than searching out a 44 or even a 46. You can go with the drivetrain of your choice and it would be all new. Just a thought.

Good info mate, thanks for the lesson. Great example of why this site is so valuable and addictive: If you want to know something you just have to ask and someone around here usualy knows eh.

Cheers
