Is it true Gen2 and 2.5 uses Mopar engines?

I don't know about that...but, Chrysler engines can be quite good. Have a 4.7 H.O. in Wife's Jeep and it's a screamer!

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Again, Monteros are all Mitsu and the V6 Montero engines are very reliable usually equal or better so than their Toyota contemporaries. Chrysler used a few cheaper variants of the Mitsubishi motors, so typically those are easy to get parts (especially electrical) for.

The Montero's/Pajero definitely used a Mitsubishi engine. The 2.3L, 2.6L, 3.0L, 3.5L and 3.8L were all Japanese engines but the did find there way into other vehicle brands including Ford, Chysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Mazda, Eagle, Hyundai and Kia.

The Isuzu Trooper used a GM sourced 2.8L V6 in 1989-91 Isuzu Troopers but the engine was so poorly received due to mechanical issues, poor performance and poor fuel economy that it was discontinued and Isuzu went back to sourcing there own engines.

I have a 1994 3.0 Liter Montero, that I know was not well maintained over its life and now, with 230,000 miles the engine and transmission are still in good shape.

I'm Getting Around To It
We don't know what topics you're talking about. Link?

He linked it on page one of this thread. Someone who didn't know what they were talking aboot posted on 4x4Wire that some of the early Montero engines were not Mitsubishi. They are. So is the 2.4, not mentioned in the list above. Another great "power" plant.

Thank you guys , I think I got may answer. original discussion on 4x4wire was wrong and misleading for me as I thought Gen2 and 2.5 were sharing their engine with Chrysler which was not correct. I guess you can't believe any thing on internet , that is why I posted here to make sure.

Thx again.
