is this bad Trand or electical issue

engine has 200K Plus millage on clock, engine starts in Park, but when I shift it to Drive gear it cutoff, please note in L, 2, 3 gears car is operational, is this Bad trans or some electrical issue, please help if some one seen these before. i already post this in multiple websites, however no help yet. I know this forum is very active.

Check the trans overdrive temp sensor? If this sensor goes out, no overdrive.

is this for all kind of trans or has to be Montero, since mine it is not Montero. I was wondering what you are referring can be applied to any trans or only Montero.

Well for a proper diagnosis we would need to know what kind of vehicle you are talking about. We just assumed you are talking about a Montero. But if not that is important information since each car is different and so is the set up.

sorry, was away for a while , it is Isuzu trooper 1993 2 DR, auto . I posted this in Isuzu planet as well, got some response back. I have limited mechanical knowledge was looking for some direction, before taking to shop, car can't be driven In D drive so I hate to tow it to transmission shop before knowing what I might get charged. I bought it to do rebuild and use it as daily driver, but didn't know what I am getting into . I am willing to pay for all the work it is needed, so if any one is in Northern Virginia please let me know.

Um... you know the Mitsu and Isuzu vehicles don't share any engine or transmission parts right? They are similar in design as is any car/suv but that's about the limit of what they share...
