Is this production pop-up or a home-built modification?

Saw this posted on denver craiglist while killing some time and looking for something I don't need. It says its a 1993 Viking and certainly looks one of a kind, but I can't believe this was ever a production model.

Bet it was originally made for an 8 foot bed (based on the factory looking roof) and then they chopped it to fit a short bed truck.

It looks like maybe less than a 6 foot bed the overhang in the back looks to be more than 2 feet maybe 3 or 4 feet?

I agree.

Whatever it is, it's awful and looks like a really bad idea. Truck needs some significant help to handle it as well.
