Issues with Garmin GPS 60csx & mapsource

I have a Garmin GPS 60 csx with MapSource City Navigator North American full lock.

I have been having some issues with turn by turn directions.

1. Sometimes it will totally change route as you are existing a ramp. Which extremely frustrating in city traffic and you are trying to get some where and you asked to change lanes at the last second.

2.It points to me to a very round about way when I can just go straight on a street i.e It will tell me to turn left, then right and then right the left again when all I had to do was go straight.

Anyones know whats up with this? I'm going to call Garmin on Monday.

Thanks,

Jim

I can't help you, other than to say that isn't normal. My 60CS doesn't do that, the directions are usually very good. The only problems seem to be new road construction not being in the map. Good luck!

Just a general thought, did you set you route to be "fastest"? or you have it set at "shortest". I know of my nuvi350 if I set it to shortest it'll route funny.

Currious to know how you make out, since mine does the exact same. I can usually tell if it's going to spit out a silly route because it gets to 100% on the route calculating progress bar then takes time to kick back over to the map screen. I've seen this quite a few times while my wife was driving. Other times is seems to miss the fact that a road connects accross an intersection and tries to re-direct you.
In my mind, I keep thinking that it's a tool to be used to help you navigate. As the user you have to recognize the shortcomings of this tool.
Cheers ,
