Another piece of forbidden fruit: Here's a look at the limited edition Iveco Campagnola

It's an Iveco Massif that has been restyled by Giugiaro, the famous Italian design studio. It's got a complicated provenance. Here goes:

The Massif is based on a design created by the Spanish firm Santana. Santana built the Series III under license from Land Rover for several years. When LR switched over to the Discovery and Defender, Santana made a few changes to the Series design and started selling it as the Anibal 4x4. A few years later, Fiat bought Santana and made it part of the Iveco truck line.

Fiat used to build a version of the WWII jeep, which they called the Campagnola, or "country girl." The name was revived for this limited edition.

The Massif/Campagnola is powered by a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel that produces about 300 ft-lb of torque. The truck has a 6 speed manual trans, 2 speed transfer case and manual locking rear differential.

I like it, the ugly front end may look better if the head light bezels were black.

That might fix it headlight arrangement that I kinda don't like. Something about it.

I know, slap on a winch bumper and that might be enough to fixing the front end.

Looks decidedly eastern-bloc like to me, but overall not bad. The interior looks very 'jeep' to me. If the rest of the mechanicals are as interesting as the interior, it could be cool, but i'm 99.9% sure well never see it in the US...

I'll drive it, but I don't want to build another matching trailer. Turbo diesel and a six speed? Oh hell I'll build another trailer, where can I buy one?
