...It seems I should expect it to be a little less inclined to wander on me when backing up, and perhaps require less nose-swing to correct? I hope so!
If by nose swing, you mean the front of your vehicle, then no...in fact, the opposite will be true. The longer the trailer, the less it will be inclined to wander; or said better, the more notice you'll have that it wants to wander.
But, you'll require more swing to correct.
