FCA exec Sergio Marchionne held a meeting with dealers in Las Vegas recently. Stories about the meeting are leaking out left and right. Here are the Jeep rumors and/or plans for the next couple of years.

1. The Grand Cherokee will received the Hellcat 6.2L supercharged V8. The package will be called Trackhawk. 700+ HP.
2. The Grand Wagoneer, a Grand Cherokee stretched to have three rows of seats, will appear in mid 2017 (sooner than previously announced)
3. The next Wrangler was shown at the meeting, so expect tons of rumors to appear. 30 mpg from a diesel model ?
4. A new subcompact Jeep was shown. Maybe a variant of the Renegade?
5. The Compass nameplate will be continued, on a vehicle sitting between Renegade and Cherokee.

If they want the Grand Wagoneer to compete with Land Rover they better work on dealer service, that's been my biggest complaint with a $30k + Jeep

The Trackhawk sounds REALLY cool! I'm also looking forward to the new Grand Wagoneer besides the Wrangler of course.

Interesting the new Wrangler is for the 2017 model year.. I thought it had gone back to 2018.

Can't wait to see it!

They already can't build them fast enough - if 30mpg is true, it might be hard to get *get* one :)

we need a picture of this new wrangler to start ripping apart:)

If you haven't heard its known as the JL and apparently the IFS and Aluminum bodies failed testing.

They did not fail testing, they did not go to testing. The decision to not go with IFS was made before May 2014. That was the earliest I heard it.

Seems like one of the issues most of the experienced Jeep guys all seem to agree on is engine power and lacking it on their built up rigs + trying to haul trip gear to far locations with lots of highway miles between etc? I wonder if the 3L diesel would help remedy that? Different kind of power more suited to turning large tires and lugging lots of extended trip supplies or trailer along? Seems like the 3L diesel would be a fairly strait forward added option that could help address that? I haven't really seen any discussions among the Jeep guys about that aspect given the idea of Diesel grunt on the trail is obviously GOOD!!!! And seems to distract from the discussion around the performance getting to the trail?

I have zero issues with jeep power. 285 horse and proper gearing runs me down the interstate on 37s easily towing a trailer. trail grunt is courtesy of a 4-1 tcase. while i love diesel. the upcharge for a diesel motor in the states is Fing stupid and not worth the 5-10 grand extra
