I always wanted more shelf space in the back of my jeep and saw few shelf options for sale, just couldn't justify paying $500 for it. After seeing this great idea on another jeep forum, I decided to do it and share it with you.
Here is what I did:
I bought a sheet of plywood 3/4" thick
Made a template from cardboard:
Traced and cut the plywood
I painted black from the bottom and bought black headliner fabric from a local auto upholstery shop to cover the top
Made brackets to attach the shelf to so that I can still use my hard top and a soft top.
And here is the end result. It's jump enough to sit and jump on... And what I like about it is that during the summer time, when I put my soft top down, I don't have to worry about a having something stolen from the back of my jeep.
