Yes. And if you believe it's because of 'sound engineering principles based on field experience', then I think you're mad. My sense that ARB produces squat based on anything other than marketing's demands for crap is tossed right out.

Wow...I've never seen somebody so passionate over the snorkel subject. I'd hate to see your reaction to roof racks, Hi-lifts, and other expedition foo-foo stuff.

For the Original Poster, one might posit that the design of the safari snorkel uses the least amount of plastic in the least obtrusive location. The JK snorkel is not good looking, as it puts way too much plastic outside the body lines of the truck, begging to get torn off.

There are folks who've installed snorkels only to take them off because of the constant snagging on tree branches, a fact with any exterior accessory.

Regardless, I think the TJ snorkels look cool and that's nearly worth $300 in my book!

For the OP..........

A couple of ideas for your consideration:

These are offered with no prejudice for or against a snorkle....:ar15:

those are cool setups. i like the hummer style one. a person could just add a 3' extension if water was in the plans while offroading. cool stuff..

i wonder, though, being in california: Would air intake mods be SMOG legal? I know the ARB....IS smog legal and therefore a no-brainer.
