Yes, can close it by myself. You need to go around the sides and tuck tent fabric in as it comes down. But closed up nice and tight.

Mario is probably the right person for the details, but I can tell you its good looking, solidly built, and well attached. I was really psyched to have an easy option for getting the propane out of the cargo area for space and safety reasons. I've got a fold down table on the back of the tailgate and the propane bracket puts the tank in the right place to run fuel over to the stove when it sits there. I'm headed out on a trip the week after this one so everything will get a proper shake down. Happy to report back details after I've used it a bit in the field.
Any way to get a picture of how it mounts? I have a J30 and would love to do something like that

I had stepped away to talk with the Overland Journal crew when it actually got mounted up so I may have missed something. As far as I can tell it mounts directly to the shell using a rivnut or something similar. I don't have a good photo of the setup on my Jeep but it's got to be identical to the mounting that AT was showing off at SEMA on another Habitat they took there. I filched the image below from their Facebook photo feed. There's a couple more over there as well from different angles.

Habitat Install is Near!
Habitat is at the paint shop with my tentative pickup from AT in Prescott on Friday! Initial deposit was April 2010 so it's been a long wait as an early adopter! Apparently the base unit does not come with any electrics like 12V sockets, USB ports, lights, etc., some of which may have been previously mentioned and even shown in pictures within this thread. These items are options. I hope it comes with the ceiling map pocket netting also shown previously - current owners please chime in. I'm having AT install a tinted right side window which is an option. Rear glass is clear and comes standard - tinted was too costly so will have film tint applied later (needed for southern AZ). I'm planning for 5-6 hrs of install time and labor based on AT estimate and what some others have experienced. My thinking is without electical if everything is ready to go when I get there then install time should be quite a bit shorter. Be sure to remove the old top yourself (e.g. soft top) or that would be additional labor. Fortunately, I have quick disconnects on mine for a quick take off prior to Habitat install. Not sure what mattress is being provided as I had heard the foam one from UMV wasn't working out and Nemo pads were being substituted but it now seems like that is not the case. If everythign holds up for Friday I'll be at the shop at open for the install and some winter camping very soon to follow over the holidays.

Thanks, FP. Unfortunately, the wait continues with travel plans for tomorrow having to be put on hold again. I was told the unit is painted so maybe I'll at least get a pic or two from Santa. No revised install date at this time. I guess JRUEPPEL got lucky.

Although I am disappointed that Habitat install was unable to occur as planned, now that I have had several communications with AT today with both Mario and Martyn, I wanted to update this same earlier post which expressed my frustration with delays as I was not intending to disparage the guys' work. To make a long strory short, the guys were very open with me about the status of everything and shared some infomation about things they are doing to assure the highest possible quality product at delivery for me and for that matter, anyone else waiting for a Habitat or some other AT product. It looks like I'll be moved out possibly to NY's week or so in order for the guys to have everything ready and up to their high quality standards which was very reassuring. As a return AT customer, my '07 loaded Horizon purchase experience was smoother but then the product was well established. Upon further reflection on the current situation as an "early adopter" for a brand new project, the growing pains felt in context of ground up product development and with more information about all that AT is doing to establish a stellar production cadence soon for the Habitat, my confidence in the product and AT has been reinforced. Home stretch now!
