Jeep XJ switch panel and relay box

Put this new fuse/relay box in my jeep today. Found the perfect plastic box from Target and added relays for the front bumper lights, reverse lights, and trailer reverse lights. There is enough room to have relays for 4 roof rack lights, 2 rear roofrack lights, and rock lights. I put the switches next to the 4wheel drive lever. It was a little dark at night, so I added 3 LED lights to brighted em up.

I had to cut about 1.5" out of the metal panel under the steering wheel to have clearance for the LED lights.

I like the placement of your switches, its something that I haven't ever really seen before until recently I've seen a few projects done like this. Thats one thing I miss about my old '95 XJ was that the dash board had plenty of flat surfaces for switches, the 97 and newer models are not quite as good in that area.

Thanks. Its made with 2 angles with 3 rivets holding it together. I did it like this so I could drill the rivet out to add/move switches

buddy of mine did that when he did his 5.3 upgrade. he used a electronics black box from radio shack used for projects.
labeling is key when you start adding all kinds of wiring.

I was just wondering how those Wallyworld type plastic boxes would hold up under the extreme heat / cold. I use them for other storage purposes and found they get brittle and crack over time.

Very nice set up Bango. I wanted to put my switches in that location but I have the upper console...I can always appreciate someone who can tinker the hell outta somethin till they get it just the way they want. As for the plastic box, this is the second one i have used, and have had no issue with cracking.
