Jeeps could get diesel engines

Strange, I told my wife the same thing a couple of years ago. We are planning no more gas powered vehicles for us after this set. She wants a used GL320 and I want a turbo diesel land cruiser. The swap on my 100 is like 25k. I do not think that will happen. I would buy a new 4 door rubicon unlimited with turbo diesel.

Lexus and Toyota not having TD suv's and trucks makes no sense. They offer TDs all over the world except in NA. I know they would have to train techs and retrofit work areas, big deal, get on with it. They need to wake up. Help the USA public out by offering diesels.

Fingers crossed for TD 4DR Rubicon in White or Desert Tan, soft top. Come on Jeep you can have my 38k or so. Just do it!

I'd never be without a Toyota(having owned several Jeeps in the past) but I can say that a TD Wrangler might be the only thing that could ever make me go BACK to owning a Jeep. Still, I'd probably only be interested in the motor for swapping into an old Toyota. But come to think of it, being that it'd be a "new tech" diesel with DPF and all sorts of overly complicated garbage I think there are far more "lower Tech" diesels out there to swap in that'll make me far happier.

Sorry, back OT. That's cool to hear that Jeep might actually be taking small diesel's seriously, maybe it'll inspire others (Cough ~Toyota) to do the same.

Cheers

Dave
