Well I finished off the shower setup so here is a few pics.

The shower is a Helton unit, and now I have it setup so you can run the shower straight off the little subursable pump that came with the kit or turn the tap under the bullbar and run it off my 4 Litre per minute inline pump off my main water tank at the back.

to use the tank's water, you just plug the hose from the water pump (normally goes to a shower head at the back for normal drinking water etc) into a garden hose plug at the back and away she goes. This also means that you can plug any garden hose into the shower from any tap anywhere and have hot showers straight from mains water if required.

I used little rubber chair feet (smaller versions of the ones that cover my air fittings) to keep the dust out of the fittings while on the road and did my usual trick of just attaching some small black chain so I don't loose them.

Ah yeah, I don't think petrols have had them for either a LONG time or ever.

The 3.0L ZD30's don't have them either as they are EFI and 'drive by wire' with no throttle cable. They have a 'heat' switch that bumps the revs up a tad but I think it turns off after a certain period. I know the 2.8's turned off after a couple of minutes and just dropped the idle back down again.

I think they are mainly used in the colder climates as a kind of choke to keep the engine running on a really cold startup so I guess the petrol don't need them and the EFI's not so much, and for that really cold stuff the little heat button does the job.

Bummer really as they are so handy out bush for so many things, charging batteries, showers, aircompressors, winches etc etc.
