I have one of the original JetBoil Personal Cooking System and looking at Jetboils web site I dont see any differance in what is offered today. Can you note the changes between the old design and new?

Beats me. I can't see any difference, but the Campmor catalogue that came in the mail called it the old version.

I wonder if in the new version, the cylindrical thing that's welded to the bottom of the cup and bayonets onto the stove actually stays attached to the cup?

I found about this recall on Facebook, of all places. Mine was the recalled version and its less than a year old. I received the prepaid package the other day and just mailed it off this morning.

Ok, got my new replacement stove yesterday in the mail. Took about 9 days and the valve appears to be better made that the original. Time to try it out this weekend :chef:
