JK Unlimited Rubicon Window Screen Kit Question

Does anyone know where I can purchase a side window and rear hatch screens kit for my 2010 Jeep JK Unlimited Rubicon? Keep out mosquitoes, black flies and nats when sleeping.

YA know, my wife and I have this as a little pet project. She's allergic to bees and hates it when I roll the windows down on the trail so we've been trying to figure something out like this. Never thought about a screen for the back hatch though...

These might work on the side windows on the metal frame. Don't know about the rear hatch if you have a soft top or plastic hard top. I've read good reviews about them before.

Thank you for the input. Based on their website it looks like a simple solution. I was thinking about an interior 2 way velcro based screen but I will look this over.

When traveling alone I often prefer to sleep in the back of the jeep. I like to leave the top rear hatch partially up at night for better ventilation. I am heading to Nova Scotia and perhaps on to NFLD and Labador this summer so black flies may be an issue.

I have the hard top
As you suggest the metal door frames likely will hold the screen magnets forward. The rear hatch area likely is a problem.

Sandy,

The lady and I will be building curtains into our JK for the sake of a camp shower (Well, more for the sake of people not being able to see us while we use said shower, but you know what I mean!)

Fabricland here in Canada -- and any large fabric store -- should sell various screen stuff by the metre (or foot). Couple that with some stick on Velcro, and you can make your own fairly cheaply.

This assumes you don't mind having some adhesive velcro strips on your hard top.

If you have a soft top it may be a bit more difficult but still, the homemade route is always an option.

For our jk camper we just cut window screen material to fit and when we setup camp we stick them to the outside of the door window frames with strong little magnets. It cheap, they fold up into the front seat back pockets and so far work great. I'd love a framed solution for the freedom top opening though and have not done anything for the back hatch window yet.

EDIT: Just looked at the manga screen site - this is exactly how our homemade ones work but without the sewn-in magnets and they are cut to fit the recessed part of each jk window opening (smaller than the magna screen).

I appreciate the help. I did purchase two Magna Screens for my JK Unlimited and used them on my recent trip to Nova Scotia. I found they worked very well on the rear door side windows. I intend to purchase two more for my front door windows. Note: they are out of stock presently. The screens don't solve the privacy issue but do a good job on the flies and permit ventilation. I still have not found a good solution for the rear hatch so have been drapping a larger loose mosquito net over the open hatch and tieing it off best I can. As noted above the hard top is not metal so magnets aren't an option for the rear hatch.
