JKs with RTTs. What rack to use?

:sombrero: With a hardtop, the MBRP JK/JKU Rack will support 350lbs mobile and over 750 lbs static, but

You've gotta drill holes in the SIDES of the top-

Mine is still 100% active/w no leaks after 5 years-

Also sold as Quadratec "Off Camber Rack"-

Do you know if they updated that to work with the bigger windows in the newer hardtops (2011+ I think).

Last I checked, they had not.

There is a late model 2011+ plus MBRP/Off Camber version available now. http://www.quadratec.com/products/12331_0006_07.htm For some reason or another Quadratec has the 2011+ version listed under MBRP and the 07-10 under Off Camber. The light bar and extension are listed under Off Camber for the 2007-2014...

I owned a GOBI on my last truck and I honestly don't know if I would do it again as mine was rusting from the inside out and the coating was crap. For that kind of money, I expected better. If you are considering the Rugged Ridge snorkel as a future mod, keep in mind that only the GOBI, Body Armor, and Rugged Ridge racks will fit if you run the high mount. I initially liked the Body Armor rack until I saw it in person, it has quite a bit of separation from the body in every dimension.

Personally, I am looking at the Rugged Ridge Sherpa Rack which is just a slightly massaged version of the Kongo Kage. I intend to have a custom basket fabbed up that suits my needs rather than dealing with some of the limited, one-size-fits-most options available.

I love my Gobi stealth rack
it fits in the garage during wintertime with 3.5" lift and 35" AT's

How tall is your jeep from ground to the very top of the rack that being the front part for the lights?

I have 35s and a 2.5" lift. And I'm at like 74" from ground to roof. I have bumpers and winch so I'm drooping a bit from weight. I think I have 84" total to work with. Obviously I'd only put the RTT on when I'd be going out to camp and I can keep the jeep outside.

hmmm. I think I can get it to work for me then. The only thing I have to check is the clearance with that middle garage door arm thingy. It hangs down a lil bit when the garage door is up.

I have the Gobi with an ARB Simpson 3c, and an ARB awning. The rack is rock solid, and I like that it incorporates a ladder, and additional storage in front of the tent area. I really like the aesthetics of the AEV rack, and its great for a tent also, but I like that I didn't have to drill holes in a hardtop, and I wish it made use of the whole roof area for more storage.20131130_154524_resized.jpg20131130_154721_resized.jpg

How easy is it to mount the awning to the Gobi rack? Did you buy the adaptors sold by Gobi or use something else?

I really like the look of the Gobi. If I actually wanted to load up a rack, then that would probably be my first choice. However as I don't really ever plan on loading it up, the MRBP would probably be better suited for me. The only disadvantage is you lose it when you go to the soft top - which I typically run all summer long.

My ideal setup is the MBRP on the rear, and a KMA light bar with tabs to attach load bars from the MBRP rack to the light bar - when needed (RTT, basket, etc).

How far above the roof does the Gobi setup sit - how much height does it add?

I like the Gobi, but not the price and I am concerned about the posts that says they rust from within.

about 6-8" inches.

Where are the "posts" that say they rust out? Seems like your basic internet issue that gets repeated over and over again.
