I would consider it I just don't know if enough jk owners would be down for cutting a hole in their floor.

Understood, there was a time when I wouldn't have done it, but I need a good place to mount a water tank without loosing interior space.

Little more work done, box cut out and formed. Hope to have it welded by tomorrow.

Got a lot done today. Box welded up, lid cut out in floor, vent hole cut out and added screen, hinge welded in and lock installed. Now to clean up the box after welding and send off for powder coating.

Not much to show. Got everything ready for powder coating, started on the wiring and built a panel for the gage, switch and air QD.

Instead of powder coating have you given any thought to Line-X. Gives a nice non skid texture. I coated my false floor over 6 years ago and it still looks flawless with the Line-X.

Any thoughts on putting a thick skid plate on the bottom? Connect it from the rear crossmember over the axle to the rear crossmember that supports the trailer hitch.

I have considered a form of skid plate for it. Would probably tie it into the rear bumper, not sure if it really needs it though. The box is even with the bottom of the bumper. May add it at a later time. I have considered line x, honestly I like the looks of powder coating better. If I was leaving it as an open floor I probably would line x it. Since I will have my fridge slide and smaller storage box mounted the floor itself wouldn't see much action. I'm going with a textured satin black.
