Yesterday I found the perfect balance point for my hardtop. The hoist system now enables the hardtop to raise and lower perfectly level.

That Terraflex system looks interesting- not unlike the AEV, using the roll-bar to carry the load. 'Bout half the money though.

I'm already invested in various Yakima systems, so I'll be installing a set of landing pads on the top soon- I'll possibly re-enforce it down the road with something like the rear brace in the rhino back-bone system and a 1/16" steel plate to go under the front mounting bolt. I might add a gutter cross bar all the way up front to carry kayaks- only having 2-3ft stick out past the front bar negates the need for bow/stren tie-downs (IMHO).
