I have been working my way through this entire forum - there's lots of good builds in here. I'm looking at a teardrop and am thinking of building a simple one as practice then selling it and building what I really want.
Been a little while since I updated this (not that anyone was necessarily following it). Lots of changes have happened.
My 2005 F150 had a spark plug break and fall into the cylinder while doing 80 and was going to require a new motor. I didn't have the space or time to put one in myself, and the quotes I got were all over $10k, so I sold it for scrap basically and bought a 2013 FX4 ecoboost. Great truck, but I miss my 05 and would rather have it back and the cash in my pocket but such is life.
My brother bought this trailer from me. We needed AC to camp in Nebraska pretty much any time May thru September, he lives in WY and has gotten some good use out of it.
The poor mans fiberglass is still holding up great for him. He has had it stored outside for two years and hasn't had any issues with it.
We now have a 1999 Hallmark Ute Lx that we picked up in Feb. and have taken out twice now. Its in great shape really.
I am installing a window AC unit in it soon and need to check out the water pump as it worked our first trip out but then not the second trip. Also need to update the wiring - I have it jerry-rigged for the time being so I have driving lights, but would like to have the battery charging off the truck so I can run the fridge while in transit. Overall I really like it, and think truck camping may be our long term solution. I have had my eyes on a Camp-X, but want to use this hallmark for a couple years before I commit to something like that.
