The heater looks almost identical to the Webasto that I had. The Webasto had a loud click from the fuel pump and the circulation fan would never fully stop when the unit was on. Have you noticed either of those things with the Russian heater?

Heater looks great. Glad you got one!

Was up at Chilco Lake and would wish to have a diesel heater instead of Propane. :)

BTW thinking about your energy problem and considering how much sun there is in BC (Lower Mainland), you are probably best of with Dual Battery setup that will use alternator to charge secondary battery.

Also much cheaper than solar, and if you drive hour or so a day it should charge both batteries.

Up date on the heater . Used it 2 nights and thought I better check the fuel , I used 1.5 liters for a total of $1.71 .
The controller still sucks but I think I have it figured out.

And yes I think I'll start with a second battery soon. I still would like to do some of that thin solar panels we talked about one day .
Thanks for the link

I can't hear any clicking from the fuel pump inside the van but you can hear it on the out side but it's not very loud and the fan does run a lot . I'm not sure if it's continues because I'm asleep. .but every time I woke it was running

I got the D2 . Takes a while to get the van warm but maintains the heat no problem. I wouldn't be afraid of getting the next size up .

Update on the heater after 10 nights sleeping in the van . The tstat /contoller sucks . I could be retarded but have not been able to get it to work so that it turns off at any temp in auto mode. When you run it a lower temp setting so you can sleep comfortly it will it heat for a bit then the heat turns off and the fan keeps blowing ,wake up an hour later I and it's colder inside than it is out side. One moring I shut it off only to wake up an hour later with the heat cranked .It was so hot I had a headache for hours.

I have the Espar D4 and it's been used a bunch in the short time I have it installed... not a single complaint or problem.
It heats my van up quickly and then goes into (I think) stand by and is very quiet once it achieves desired temps.

I was also told it would encounter problems because it's too big for my application, but they were wrong so far.
